Axel Flóvent drops third single “Have This Dance” ahead of summer album release

Icelandic singer-songwriter Axel Flóvent has unveiled his brand-new, “Have This Dance”, the third instalment from his eagerly awaited upcoming album scheduled for release this summer under Nettwerk. Immerse yourself in the ethereal fusion of polished synths and daring piano, as Axel once again showcases his musical prowess in crafting a transcendent soundscape that whisks the audience away to a haven of tranquillity. The track, a testament to Axel’s unreserved artistry, lays bare honest lyricism, portraying him as a songwriter who fearlessly exposes his emotions.

In a candid revelation, Axel shares insights into the inspiration behind “Have This Dance”, labelling it a straightforward love song. The narrative revolves around the experience of falling in love and perceiving the world through a renewed perspective. According to Axel, the track captures the essence of rediscovery and excitement after encountering someone who revitalises one’s outlook on life.

The accompanying visuals for “Have This Dance”, directed and filmed by Magnus Andersen, unfold against the breathtaking backdrop of the Faroe Islands, where last summer’s scenic beauty served as the canvas for the collaboration with the Faroese dance company RIVA.

This release follows Axel’s previous singles, “When the Sun Goes Down” and “Asymmetry”, signalling a warmly hazed return for the artist after his collaborative EP, Coexist, released last year. Axel Flóvent, currently fine-tuning his forthcoming sophomore album, anticipates a spring release through Nettwerk. As part of the prelude to the album launch, he is set to embark on a European tour featuring a mix of headline and support shows. Additionally, Axel has confirmed his participation in SXSW in Austin, Texas, scheduled from March 11th to 16th, marking a significant milestone in his musical journey.
